Business Background
Joy was very privileged to help launch Rovos Rail 32 years ago as the first employee and has over the years watched the ugly duckling become a gracious swan.
Previously her portfolio also included all the products in the Legend Lodges Group, Ellerman House and she also had the privilege of introducing Babylonstoren to the tourism industry in Cape Town and although her contract was supposed to be for only three months, it ended up being three years.
All good things come to an end and so it is with Rovos as Joy retired from Rovos at the end of the year 2020.
Charity Work
In the evenings when not busy Joy crochetes baby blankets for a charity organisation that helps mothers who have nothing, to at least take their babies home in a warm blanket.
She has managed to deliver a total of 75 so far. She intends to crochet many more.
During her Presidency of Skål Cape Town she also started a Charity called Santa Shoeboxes and with the participation of the members destitute people living in Homes for the Aged received a shoebox filled with goodies.
Hobby
In addition to her crocheting in the evenings she is passionate about art and hand made jewellery and spends much of her spare time on either doing abstract fluid art paintings or working on jewellery. For more info on this please visit https://joyfulflair.co.za/
